Wedding photography is arguably the most difficult type of photography as there are no second chances.
An experienced photographer has the right personality to work with lots of people at a very emotional time, knowing where to be to get the shot at the right time without being intrusive to the couple, guests or videographers. Constantly observing for special moments and where appropriate making suggestions or guiding shots into the best light, backgrounds, framing… to help create natural, magical images to cherish.
After the event there is intense creative crafting during the post processing stage.
Professional Wedding Photographers typically charge from $2,500 up to $10,000 depending on their target market. A lot of the time subcontracting the Photography and Post Production. With Portraits In The Park you get premium quality, emotive, sculpted photos and a reliable, personable Wedding Photographer who is the owner operator for under $2000 for a 10 hour wedding package.
Professional Family Portrait Photography prices can range from $200 to over $1000 as all inclusive packages or somewhat deceptively broken into two parts 1. The actual photography session 2. What you end up receiving, prints and/or digital files and how many.
At Portraits In The Park we have one affordable all inclusive Family Portrait Photography package. A highly experience portrait photography session at a location of your choice in the Sutherland Shire and supply all digitally enhanced files.
A typically Family Portrait Photography session should be no shorter than 30 minutes (too rushed) and take no longer than 2 hours (too fatigued). People sitting for a portrait need to prepare and travel to and from the shoot. Out of respect to this customer commitment and to avoid a rushed vibe Portraits In The Park prefer a 1 hour Portrait Photography session. That said we don’t clock watch nor cram back to back sessions.
A photographer’s time on location is only one attribute that makes up an hourly rate. Almost the same amount of time is spent processing and grading the images. On top of that there is the intangible cost of reliability, personability and unique creative style and flare, the last three points are ultimately why you would choose Portraits In The Park over another Wedding Photographer.
Most businesses prefer to charge according to the total value they offer rather than reducing their service to an hourly rate. At Portraits In The Park we price Photography in line with Trades people. We charge a minimum 1 hour cost and then a flat hourly rate for time on location that includes the corresponding hour that will be spent on digitally enhancing the images.
With Portraits In The Park you get premium quality, emotive, sculpted photography and a reliable, personable Portrait or Wedding Photographer starting at $260 for a Family Portrait session and under $2,000 for a 10 hour Wedding Package with all photos included.
At Portraits In The Park our prices are affordable, compared to most Family Portrait or Wedding Photographers in the Sutherland Shire, sometimes half the price, because it compliments our commercial work and we love capturing special moments that we know you'll look back on and cherrish. You can get an idea of our photography style from work we have provided to other clients here. To get an idea of our personability and fit for your Wedding Day we can meet up or offer 50% off a portrait session and if we photograph your wedding day we will refund the total cost of the portrait session.

Copyright ownership sometimes comes up but it's really not a big deal. Copyright ownership always remains with the Photographer. This just means when you engage our service you can use the photos for their intended purpose, that is, sharing on social media, getting prints and framing. The images cannot be used for advertising, financial gain or publishing. For example, supplying your photos to a celebrant or venue to use as a feature image in marketing their service. If you’re unsure just get in touch and I'm sure it will be fine for them to use, just let us know.
